Life in the city
Pierre Giacometti, Ipsos und Henri Proglio, Veolia Environnement, in Veolia Observatory of Urban Lifestyles, 2008
Today, 3.3 billion people are city dwellers, that is more than half the world’s population. And the number is steadily rising: each day, more than 18,000 people move to a city. In 2030, 60% of the world’s population will be urbanized and almost all population growth will be concentrated in cities*.This trend towards urbanization, more or less marked depending on the continent, is global in its scope. It seems inevitable.
